If you are looking to upgrade that old, tired Ford 289 for your 1965, 1966, or 1967 Mustang, Fairlane, Falcon or Cougar, this Ford 289 with Edelbrock aluminum heads crate engine by Blue Monkey Performance would be an EXCELLENT choice. This 289 has enough cam to give it that muscle car sound but is still mild enough to be reliable for that everyday driver or restoration project. This engine can be used with a standard or automatic transmission. A mild or stock stall speed converter can be used if you are using an automatic transmission. This engine runs on leaded or unleaded premium pump fuel.
The 289 balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, hypereutectic pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, and balancer) featured in this engine:
- 2.870" stroke 289 crank
- 289 FoMoCo rods with ARP rod bolts
- Flat top hyperuetectic pistons
More special features of this engine include:
- Seasoned 289 block with 6 bolt bellhousing that has been vatted, magnafluxed for cracks, thermal cleaned and steelabrated, bored, honed and plateau honed to fit new flat top hypereutectic oversized pistons
- Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good long lasting seal
- New Comp Cam Hydraulic flat tappet mild performance cam
- New Edelbrock Aluminum heads made in the USA from A356 aluminum and heat treated to T6 specifications. They have larger than stock intake and exhaust ports for better flow and added power
- New 2.02"Int/1.600"Exh stainless valves with undercut stems to improve flow
- Heads have 3-angle valve job
- New Hardened exhaust seats for use with leaded or unleaded fuel

Opel and Auto Design and Styling magazine launch new sketch contest
Wed, 08 May 2013Opel and Auto Design and Styling magazine have joined forces to launch the ‘Adam Seeks Eve' sketch competition. The competition, which is open to amateur and professional designers of all ages, asks participants to "sketch the ideal car partner for the Opel Adam." Designs can be a personalized Adam, a model inspired by it, or its next iteration. The winner will be awarded a free ticket to the AutoDesign Prague Automotive Design Conference and the AutoDesign Prague Workshop as well as being lent an Adam for a week.
