DESCRIPTION

Here is a cast iron right angle oil filter adapter from a Ford Econoline van. This adapter works great on Sunbeam Tigers to replace all the remote oil filter plumbing. Unclutters the engine compartment and makes it easier to change the filter. It is great to do away with all the little oil leaks from all the fitting on the Tiger's stock set up and keep your engine compartment cleaner. Can be used on other Ford engines that use the standard Ford FL1A oil filter which have tight clearance around the engine too. Adaptor can use the large Ford FL1A oil filter (stock Tiger filter) or the smaller Ford FL-400-S filter for extra clearance. Adapter has been cleaned and painted black and comes with two new adapter gaskets, new inner square cut O-Ring seal for attaching bolt, and an adapter-to- block insert (this is the little piece in the photos, which is threaded internally & externally, which fits into the engine block and is needed as it isn't used with the Tiger's remote adapter). Every part needed is here. Using this adapter was noted in many Tiger club tech tips and I eliminated the remote filter set up on my Tiger over 20 years ago and have had no problems.
The adapter bolts to the engine block after the Tiger remote setup is removed. Picture a non-Tiger small block Ford engine, its stock oil filter screws onto a threaded fitting on the side of the block. Now after the filter and threaded fitting it mounts to is removed the adapter is mounted where the stock small block filter was. The large bolt with the adapter goes through the adapter and threads into the block where the filter was but now the filter mounts 90 degrees from the side of the block instead of straight out from the block. Before the large bolt is tightened fully a oil filter should be installed to it and the adapter rotated so the filter has the best clearance before final tightening. I hope this is understandable. These adapters are very hard to find.

***PLEASE include the item number & name on all correspondence and payments.***

If you are the high bidder on more than one of my auctions I will combine the shipping to save you postage. If you want to do this please alert me. I will send you an amended S/H quote.

PLEASE NOTE:

When leaving Feedback on eBays "DSR" (Detailed Seller Ratings) 5 Star Rating System, in the Shipping and Handling charges spot, please take into account the cost of packing material, boxes, tape, fuel costs, and time it takes to mail a package. Also all the eBay and PayPal fees. Thank You.

*******NOTE: FOR SHIPPING OUT OF THE U.S. BIDDERS*******

If you are the winning bidder and need the item shipped out of the U.S. there is an additional $1.00 (for items under $100.00) to $1.60 (for items up to $200.00) added to your standard shipping total invoice for INSURANCE, sorry for this but it is the only way PayPal/eBay will guarantee the item if it gets lost for "Proof of Delivery". Complain to eBay/PayPal, and maybe we can get this changed.

International buyers, please keep in mind when leaving the eBay detailed seller rating (DSR) that I ship every item that has been paid for, the next Day after end of Auction (Except Weekends). The USPS states on their web site, it takes 10 to 14 business days for delivery of International First Class Mail packages (this includes Canada). It is totally out of my hands the delivery time frame for U.S. Mail.

I also have no control over any Customs delays at any given country. All customs duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

Refund minus shipping and eBay fees. Please contact me if you have a problem...Paypal payments are OK. Note your winning auction item will be mailed to your PayPal Address unless you tell me otherwise. I pack all items well, insured or not. THANK YOU FOR YOUR BID.

Toyota goes on offensive, seeks 100 percent owner response to recall notice

Toyota Motor Corp., spurred by criticism that previous recalls failed to prompt enough owners to seek fixes, hopes to distribute mailings this week to the 2.3 million owners targeted in a January recall. Toyota says it will be vigilant in reaching each of the affected customers and hopes to have all repairs done within 90 days. The goal was outlined today as the automaker detailed its strategy for eliminating the possibility of unintended acceleration in the eight Toyota-brand models that were the focus of a Jan.

Children more distracting than cell phones, study finds

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Parents of small children will not be surprised by findings released recently by Australian researchers stating children pose a greater distraction to drivers than talking on cell phones -- a 12 percent greater distraction, to be exact. With all the screaming and crying infants bring to the commute and the fighting and other factors older siblings contribute, we wonder why nobody has pointed a finger at our precious angels sooner. Perhaps because there is little we can do to control when or where our kids decide to dissolve into fits of rage or sorrow.

Motor Industry bosses have said this week that the Electric car market is carnage and that EVs are not fit for primetime sales. We’ve made no secret of our views on electric cars: they’re simply not fit for the market. And now it seems motor industry bosses are finally standing up and saying much the same.
