Chevrolet Orlando MPV concept: first photos
Tue, 09 Sep 2008By Tim Pollard and Richard Yarrow First Official Pictures 09 September 2008 11:00 Chevrolet's transformation continues unabated with the new Orlando seven-seat MPV. Unless you've been on an unusually long and distant summer holiday, you will have noticed that every manufacturer is whetting gourmands' appetites for a feast of new metal at the Paris motor show 2008 – and the Orlando is one of a handful of new Chevrolets being readied for the French auto salon. The Orlando pictured here is a concept car, but the production version coming by the end of the decade won't look much different.
German new car sales drop 11 per cent – pre-reg accounts for 33.5 per cent
Fri, 19 Oct 2012New car sales in Germany dropped by 11 per cent in September with pre-reg cars accounting for over a third of all sales. That drop of 11 per cent in Germany is despite deep discount offers – an average of 12.2 per cent in September – with even the previously invincible Mercedes and VW having to offer discounts of up to €3k, despite which VW’s sales fell by 20 per cent in Germany and Mercedes by 12 per cent. What’s perhaps most interesting about the decline in car sales in Germany is the number of pre-reg cars sold (pre reg cars are cars registered by dealers to hit sales targets and then sold at a discount of up to 25 per cent).
Jaguar XK 5.0 Portfolio Convertible Review – Richard Madeley
Tue, 29 Sep 2009Richard Madeley spends a week with Jaguar's XK Convertible I’ve always held a torch for Jaguars; forgave them their trespasses even back in the bad old 1970s; loved them as things of beauty even when they weren’t. Whatever the model, whatever the year, they were Jaguars, and that was that. A bit like the Beatles’ White Album – a classic, for all the obvious flaws that only a crashing bore would draw attention to.
