“I was told that this engine was never run. I have removed a valve cover and found it very clean. I have put power to the starter and the engine turns over easy with very good compression. The igniter/spark plug has no sign of use. It is very possible that this engine has never been run. There is no intake manifold. Looks like this engine is Serial # 33”

The first official photos of the 2011 Mercedes CLS leak out The Paris Motor Show beckons, and we are thankfully going to have far more going on in the world of cars than we have for the last month or so. And today’s leak of the 2011 Mercedes CLS in all its production ready glory – well, it’s Photoshop enhanced production ready glory, anyway – is doubtless the first of the Paris leaks to come over the next month or so. Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the replacement for the Mercedes CLS.

Mercedes-Benz recalls diesel cars for a problem with the fuel filter

Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly 7,000 diesel vehicles from the 2011 and 2012 model years to fix a possible defect with the diesel filter that could cause it to leak fuel. Mercedes said it is concerned that a crash or a fire could ensue in the event of a fuel leak from the area around the heating component in affected vehicles. The recall will involve an estimated 6,782 vehicles.

Acura reverses product plans

Acura is reversing course in North America as the brand suffers through the shift from high-performance luxury vehicles and the cancellation of its V8 and rear-wheel-drive programs. There is "a certain level of confusion" about Acura in the marketplace, Honda Motor Co. CEO Takanobu Ito told Automotive News at the Tokyo auto show.
