The beautiful Alfa Zagato TZ3 Stradale There’s been a lot going on to celebrate the centenary of Alfa Romeo, not least the cars created to pay tribute to a marque that still oozes petrol from every pore. January 2011 saw the Alfa Romeo Pininfarina Concept at Geneva Motor Show, April saw the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa début at Villa D’Este and Christmas had us expecting a Zagato TZ4 Stradale after Zagato’s Christmas card seemed to show what we thought could be an Alfa Romeo Zagato TZ4 all wrapped up in a bow. Johan Schwartz shattered the Guinness World Record for longest sustained drift in a BMW M5 Saturday, completing a total of 322.5 laps and covering 51.278 miles. Schwartz, a BMW Performance Driving instructor, beat the previous 6.94-mile drift record at the BMW Performance Center in Greenville, S.C. using just one set of Continental tires.

Auburn spring auction includes car collector panel

Visitors to the Auburn Spring Collector Car Auction will get a treat in May when Reggie Jackson, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer; Wayne Carini, host of HD Theater's Chasing Classic Cars, and concept-car expert Joe Bortz take part in a panel discussion about the world of the collector car. The panel discussion will take place at the Auction Park Arena in Auburn, Ind., on May 14 at 9 a.m. before the auction starts.
