Fri, 10 Jul 2009By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 10 July 2009 10:22 Vauxhall’s new Insignia VXR is going to be one of the performance bargains of the year – the 321bhp feisty family car will cost £30,995 when sales start in autumn 2009. Major restrictions suggested for learner drivers
Fri, 11 Oct 2013A NEW report on potential changes to young driver training could cut accident casualties by more than 4,000 a year. The report, from transport research group TRL, recommends teenagers should not be allowed to take their driving test until they are 18, rather than the current threshold of 17. They would have to have a 12-month "learner stage" beginning at 17 with a requirement for at least 100 hours of day-time and 20 hours of night-time supervised practice.
Endurance-drivers seminar highlights Amelia Island concours
Sun, 11 Mar 2012If there were a Hall of Fame for endurance drivers, the nine gentlemen assembled on Saturday at the 17th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance would certainly be members. Event founder and chairman Bill Warner needed 25 minutes just to read off a portion of their lifetime racing accomplishments as he introduced them individually to a packed ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, home of the event. Hurley Haywood, Vic Elford, Sam Posey, Joe Buzzetta, Gerard Larousse, Brian Redman, Jim Hall, David Hobbs and Derek Bell regaled the audience with tales of their amazing careers.
