Redesigned 2013 Nissan Sentra sedan revealed

Nissan has lifted the cover off the redesigned 2013 Sentra sedan—its third product reveal within the past six months. The new Sentra arrives in dealer showrooms this fall. Nissan says the new Sentra is lighter by 150 pounds and more fuel efficient, returning up to 40 mpg highway.

Students graduating in automotive, transport and product design from Coventry University in 2009 displayed an exceptionally wide variety of final projects. From hydrogen-powered supercars to electric commuters, eco awareness was a clear theme, with imaginative use of new materials and technologies. Strong interest was evident in all forms of transport - from folding bicycles and ingenious wheelchairs to ocean-crossing ekranoplan aircraft and extravagant super-yachts for the very wealthy.

Back in the 60s, Toyota launched a few iconic sports cars such as the 800 and the gorgeous 2000 GT. Not happy to have created automotive perfection with the latter, the Japanese brand went on to explore even more extravagant shapes and unveiled the first of the EX concepts series in 1969. While its bold lines are truly Japanese, the EX-1 looked like the missing link between the fast silhouette of a 1967 Maserati Ghibli and the hairy-chested heft of a Dodge Challenger.
