Meadow Brook concours changes name

The Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance is changing its name this year and will be known as the Concours d'Elegance of America at Meadow Brook. The vintage-car event is held annually in suburban Detroit on the grounds of the Meadow Brook estate, located on the campus of Oakland University. The estate is the former home of Matilda Dodge Wilson, the widow of auto pioneer John Dodge.

Organized and promoted by the German Design Council, the new international brand and design competition announced the winners on 22 July. And just to prove the point, this year the annual Bonhams sale earned a staggering £22.6 million on the Friday of the event. The star attraction was a 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus, as used in iconic road races such as the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and Carrera Panamericana, which sold for £10.7 million following a fierce battle between bidders.
