Top Gear fans will probably remember Jeremy Clarkson taking the Peel P50 – billed as the world’s smallest car ever – for a trolley round London and the BBC (we’ve published the video below to remind you). Now, with the world obsessed with small cars, a bunch of businessmen – backed by former Dragons’ Den Dragon James Caan – are putting the Peel P50 and Trident back in to production.
Jaguar E-Type celebrates 50 years
Mon, 28 Feb 2011As the Geneva motor show opens its doors to the press, it is quite apt that the Jaguar E-Type be honored by a new exhibition at the Design Museum in London, UK. Commemorating the iconic vehicle's 50th anniversary since it was first unveiled at the Swiss motoring exposition, the 'Tank' installation at the Design Museum has played host to many cars in the past, from the Model T Ford through to the Citroen C6, but none seem quite as fitting as the E-Type Jaguar. Possibly the most infamous car to come from Coventry, the E-Type is revered as a design classic and is still admired in droves to this day.
John Herlitz, former Chrysler Senior Design Vice President, dies
Thu, 10 Apr 2008John E. Herlitz, former Chrysler Senior Design Vice President, died on March 24th, he was 65. His 35 year career with Chrysler began in 1965, when he joined the company as a stylist, after graduating from Pratt Institute of Design in Brooklyn.
