Garmin Gpsmap 695 Factory Refurbished. Like New on 2040-parts.com
Livonia, Michigan, United States
HI I am Brian. This is my newly refurbished Garmin GPS MAP 695. I am an active Private Pilot and regularly fly. This GPS by Garmin is like new condition. I will include the original box, the GXM40 XM radio GPS antenna for subscription weather and radio from XM radio. I am upgrading aircraft and my new airplane has a integrated glass panel and will no longer need this wonderful tool in the cockpit.I will include the quick start guide and original users guide from Garmin. This unit includes the original Garmin AC wall plug and DC 12V cigarette plug for use in the aircraft. This unit comes with a new Battery from the factory. The screen still has a screen protector, is new from the factory. This basically a new unit, without paying for a new in the box unit. I am a huge aviation advocate and enthusiast. I know flying. I am not a resell shop looking to make a quick buck. Please bid with confidence. Please ask any questions and I will respond as swiftly as possible. Be assured, you can open this package, place this inside your plane and be flying with no hassles. See the Big PictureThe GPSMAP 695’s bright 7" diagonal high-definition sunlight-readable display makes detailed mapping easy to see day or night — you can even view an entire approach plate on the large-format display. For easy operation, the bezel around the screen includes soft keys and a joystick control. And the internal GPS provides position updates five times per second (5 Hz), allowing the 695 to present flight data smoothly and continuously. No Chart? No Problem. With the addition of IFR map mode, Garmin FliteCharts® and ChartView™, the GPSMAP 695 provides key functions of a Class 1/Class 2 electronic flight bag (EFB), reducing the use of paper charts in the cockpit. When in IFR map mode, the 695 can display victor airways, jet routes, minimum enroute altitudes and leg distance, much like what’s found on traditional enroute charts. With FliteCharts, you can quickly find and view all U.S. AeroNav Services, standard terminal arrival routes (STARs), approach charts and airport diagrams. A geo-referenced version of FliteCharts will be available in late 2010, which will provide you with an on-screen representation of your aircraft’s exact position overlaid directly onto these charts. For pilots who prefer Jeppesen charts and diagrams, Garmin also offers ChartView. The ChartView service utilizes Jeppesen’s extensive library to provide global geo-referenced charting capabilities (Chartview activation instructions).Enhance Situational AwarenessThe GPSMAP 695 features a high-resolution terrain page showing hazards relative to your altitude and a vertical profile of terrain along your route of flight. It comes with a built-in Jeppesen database, and an Americas, Atlantic or Pacific terrain database. It also includes an obstacles database for the U.S. or Europe. Using this information, the 695 displays your flight route over contour terrain mapping. With information from the terrain and obstacles databases, the 695 monitors your current position in relation to surrounding terrain to provide alerts. To help keep pilots aware of special airspace activity, over 683 parachute drop zones are detailed in the Americas navigation database. You can even customize your own minimum clearance levels to receive terrain cautions. The 695 also comes with a realistic “view from space” satellite imagery basemap. |

Citroën Cactus concept with Air Bump technology confirmed for Frankfurt debut [w/Video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Citroën's Cactus concept featuring a mysterious sounding 'Air Bump' technology will be taking center stage at the carmaker's stand at this year's Frankfurt motor show. The carmaker has released just one image of the concept along with a 21-second video (see left) showing a spongy panel labeled ‘Air Bump' being poked. Although this doesn't really tell us much about what this new technology actually does, we suspect the panels featured in the video are inserted into the bumper and can protect it from the smaller-scale collisions that can happen in everyday life.
Optima Sports pushes two new tire innovations
Tue, 05 Oct 2010WITH VIDEO -- If John Scott has his way, every car on the road will be shod with tires featuring built-in camber. Scott is the owner of Wisconsin-based Optima Sports, a small automotive-engineering firm, and inventor of Camber Tires--tires with a constantly decreasing diameter. According to Scott, his tires offer multiple benefits, including enhanced handling, increased stability, reduced tread noise, improved fuel economy and better safety by reducing rollovers.
