This isn’t a record that’s quite as daft as some of the records that are claimed for the Nurburgring (there almost seems to be a specific category of ‘Record’ time to fit every car maker’s needs), but it does seem a bit obscure. Mercedes has revealed that the 2013 E Class saloon will start at £32,400 and the E Class Estate from 34,310. The E63 AMG costs from £73,720. In fact, with everything from lights to bumpers, grills to interior and smoother haunches and a big crease line down the side, Mercedes could almost have claimed the new E Class to be a new car rather than just a mid-life facelift for the current E Class.

Honda expands recall on airbag inflator

Honda has expanded a previously announced recall for airbag problems of certain 2001 through 2003 model year Honda and Acura vehicles. The recall now includes vehicles that may have had the original driver's airbag module replaced with a service part. The replacement airbag inflators could deploy with too much pressure, causing the airbag to rip, resulting in injury or death, according to Honda.
