Opel product chief Weber quits to take job with yet-unnamed rival

Frank Weber, the German-born engineer who helped lead development of the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera hybrids, is leaving General Motors' Opel unit to work for an as-yet unnamed competitor. Weber has been Opel's product chief since November 2009. His departure was reported Thursday by Automotive News Europe and confirmed by company sources.

Presented at the 1969 Chicago auto show, the second opus of the American Motors Experimental series, the AMX/2 was not just AMC's most daring concept car ever, but one of Detroit's first acknowledgments that the future of high-performance sports cars would be mid-engined.

Mazda to launch hydrogen powered Wankel Range Extender EV

Mazda is to launch a range extender electronic car in 2013 with a range extender Wankel engine powered by hydrogen. Mazda are not having the easiest of times at the moment. They’re struggling to move the Wankel engine forward and are being crippled by the strength of the Yen.
