This is the new Mazda CX-5, the third addition to the Japanese car company’s SUV line-up after the CX-7 and CX-9 (the latter isn’t sold in Europe). If the old adage of a pretty car being a winning car rings true this season, we suspect Sauber, Red Bull and Marussia will squabble for the title, with Caterham surprised to see themselves battling Lotus and Toro Rosso at the back of the field.

Peugeot 407 Coupe (2009) drops petrol engines

The reworked 2.0-litre unit improves in economy and power, but the big news is a new 3.0-litre V6, which will be Peugeot’s most powerful production engine ever. The V6 unit was a joint development by PSA and Ford, and produces 241bhp and a hefty 331lb ft of torque between 1600 and 3600rpm.
