Aston Martin One-77 – in the flesh
Sun, 26 Apr 2009The completed Aston Martin One-77 revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este But as we told you the other day, Aston Martin decided that the perfect place to show an ostensibly finished One-77 was the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este. Which, if it hadn’t rained (which thankfully it didn’t the whole time) would have been idyllic (actually, we had heard on the grapevine that Aston Martin had agreed that the first showing would be at this year’s Salon Prive at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham – glad we didn’t run that as a story!). I have to say the Aston Martin One-77 does look as glorious in the flesh as we hoped.
Fiat 500 Gucci & 500C Gucci heading to the U.S.
Wed, 17 Aug 2011Fiat 500byGucci - and Natasha Poly Did the U.S know what it was letting itself in for when it started to buy the Fiat 500? Well, it’s going to find out soon enough with Fiat launching both the tin top 500byGucci and the convertible 500c Gucci in the States in December. Just like MINI, the Fiat 5090 is a style statement, rather than just mere transport.
Jean Bugatti's final project realized 73 years after his death
Fri, 10 Aug 2012Legendary designer Jean Buggati's final unfinished project has finally been realized by the Mullin Automotive Museum, 73 years after his death. The Southern Californian Museum is devoted to the preservation of French art and automobiles from the Art Deco era, and has announced that the 1939 Bugatti Type 64 Coupe Chassis #64002 project is nearing completion. The museum – alongside Stewart Reed Design of Pasadena and Automobile Metal Shaping Company of Michigan – has added the swooping coupé body to the original chassis based on sketches left unfinished by Bugatti at the time of his death in 1939.
