Dr Zetsche opens CES with keynote speech
Wed, 11 Jan 2012Hot on the heels of the unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz SL in Detroit yesterday, Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG hot-footed it to Las Vegas to open the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas with a keynote speech that highlighted the company's direction in the ever-important tech space. When he rediscovered the car and cleared all the trash off, he also learned it was one of the oldest of its kind in the world. While we have a few questions, not the least of which is "how does one forget a car parked in the garage," we're pleased to see that the owner has since restored the car and plans to strap a trailer on the back and take it to the beach later this summer.

Mon, 07 Mar 2011The Bertone B99 Jaguar Concept - not for us, say Jaguar We thought we were in a minority of one when we proclaimed the Bertone B99 – Bertone’s take on a new Small Jaguar – to be the wrong direction for Jaguar. We couldn’t conceive why a struggling Italian design firm like Bertone would take a punt on designing a new Jaguar, so we assumed that Jaguar must have quietly commissioned it. Otherwise Bertone would have to be a bit barking to try and usurp Jaguar’s design team; a design team with as sure a touch as any in the industry.
