These saddlebag supports are custom made. I designed and made these for my two brothers - in -law who have '04 Sportsters.  They have been using them for several years and find they are working great.  They are nickel plated, just as bolts that you would purchase at a store.  Made specifically for 2000 thru 2013 sportsters and may fit more years. You do not have to relocate turn signals and will fit with detachable backrest. These are easy to install just remove shock bolt and install with new bolt which is included.  The supports are made out of 5/16 round steel. These make a great gift!

Before installing the supports my  brother-in-law's sadlebags would snag on the bottom shock mount and it tore a hole in the bags.  $180 bags with a hole is not good!  These sell for approximately $90 from Harley Davidson, but their design requires that you relocate your turn signal for installation

Winning bidder will receive 2 support brackets, 2 bolts that are 1 inch longer than your stock bolt and hex key for installation.   Please email if you have any questions.

Shipping will be $10.00 in the USA PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING PRICES THEY ARE MORE.    Payment is due within 3 days of the end of auction.  Winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours of auction end with shipping info. and intended method of payment. PATENT PENDING

MADE IN THE USA

Just wanted to let you know that the supports fit *perfectly* on my Sportster Nightster. I was concerned as the Nightster comes with a side-mount license plate and the official supports require you remove it and relocate the license plate to the rear of the fender. Your supports just clear that plate with about 3/8" to spare.

I'd suggest marketing them as also fitting the Nightster w/ side-mount plate. Thanks *very* much for the awesome job - I get to keep my side plate and my removable sissy bar. I couldn't ask for more!

More feedbacks and emails from happy customers!
I just received my brackets and am really impressed. Your
craftmanship is excellent. I am really happy with the item and it
works great.

Vauxhall launches speed limit detectors on Insignia (2008)

Thu, 19 Jun 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 June 2008 07:53 Vauxhall's new Insignia will be the first of a wave of cars to have a forward-facing camera that can read road signs. The optional kit will detect speed limit and no overtaking signs – and flash up a reminder to the driver on the dashboard.GM calls the tech, which will be launched in early 2009, Traffic Sign Recognition and it uses a small, wide-angled camera system supplied by Hella. It sits at the top of the windscreen near the rain sensors and rear-view mirror, scanning the road ahead taking 30 photos per second. It's 1984 all over again...With a range of 100 metres, the camera focuses on circular patterns and then interprets the numbers inside by contour comparison; if a match is found on the software's database, that road sign will be flashed up in the driver's binnacle. The front-facing camera is also used as a lane departure warning system, alerting the driver if they unintentionally swerve out of their lane on a motorway.Cars with cameras: a growing trendMore and more manufacturers are fitting cameras to their cars nowadays and you can expect a flood of systems like the Insignia's to be launched in 2009, including the new BMW 5-series.CAR tried out these new systems on Bosch prototypes in 2007.

The new Mazda MX-5 has been umveiled The Mazda MX-5 is the car we, the British, would still be making if we hadn’t forgotten how to make fun to drive and affordable roadsters for the common man. Fortunately, Mazda has taken up the Mantle with the MX-5 over the last 25 years, and the new 2015 MX-5 looks like it will offer more of the same. The new MX-5 has a new chassis, a pair of new SkyActiv petrol engines and manages to be lighter and smaller than the current MX-5 – which augers very well for its appeal and ability.

Aston Martin confirms Middle East-only Lagonda super-saloon

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

By John Mahoney Motor Industry 25 July 2014 16:54 Aston Martin has confirmed it will once again make a Lagonda super-saloon - but only for Middle Eastern markets. The details of Aston’s secret plans to resurrect its luxurious nameplate for a small production run of luxury saloons were revealed in the July 2014 issue of CAR following our spy photographer captured a wedgy four-door saloon testing on the roads around Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ in Warwickshire. The mule we snapped, like the production car set to arrive in 2015, is based on Aston’s familiar VH architecture that underpins the four-door Aston Martin Rapide.
