Autoweek reader and frequent spy-photo contributor Spencer Abbott brings us these photos that he took last weekend in Birmingham, Mich. The photos clearly show a heavily camouflaged Cadillac XTS. But given that production-ready examples of Cadillac's new full-sizer have been making frequent appearances on Michigan highways for months, the heavy camo on this XTS is a bit puzzling.

Volvo makes breakthrough in battery tech

Volvo has developed a new way of ‘storing’ energy for its future electric vehicles. The Swedish firm is exploring the concept of lightweight structural energy storage components made from carbonfibre, containing “nano structured batteries and super capacitors.” This technology is said to offer a lighter, more compact solution to the problem of energy storage, potentially removing the need for the heavy, bulky batteries used in current electric vehicles. Honda Insight hybrid sticker price to start at $20,470

Honda has delivered on its promise of bringing the 2010 Insight to market priced less than the rival Toyota Prius. The new Honda hybrid will start at just $20,470 in base LX form, including shipping charges, which undercuts the Prius by $2,250. Insight LX models come standard with front-side and side-curtain airbags, ABS, automatic climate control and power windows.
