Peter Schreyer to receive 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Peter Schreyer has been chosen by a panel of his fellow designers to receive the 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award. Schreyer, Kia and Hyundai's chief design officer and one of three presidents, directs the design strategy for the both Kia and Hyundai. He's the first non-Korean to hold the position of president and is one of the highest-ranking designers in the industry's history.
Young Drivers Accident Risk Warning
Tue, 27 May 2014RESEARCH commissioned by the RAC Foundation and carried out by transport research laboratory TRL has found that teenage drivers are involved in almost one in eight road accidents involving injury. Based on nationwide statistics covering five years 2008 to 2012, the survey showed that 11.9% of all road casualties were injured or killed in collisions involving a car driver aged 17-19. This was despite those aged between 17 and 19 making up only 1.5% of licensed drivers.
Hyundai incentive includes job loss insurance
Tue, 06 Jan 2009During a focus group meeting in late November, Joel Ewanick, Hyundai Motor America's vice president of marketing, realized no matter how much cash Hyundai piled on the fenders, it probably wasn't going to get buyers into showrooms. Not when they were worried about losing their jobs. "The question for consumers right now is what is going to happen to their income in 2009," Ewanick told Automotive News.
