But experts are warning that skiers who make their own way to the slopes this winter, instead of buying a package with transfers included, could be hit by hefty charges for car hire at the airport. The orange supercar was initially stopped by officers in Newham, east London as it had no front number plate, and further checks revealed the driver was not the registered owner. The Lamborghini Aventador - which does 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217mph - was seized when police discovered the driver's insurance policy did not cover him to get behind the wheel of the luxury motor.
Democrats cut deal on cash-for-guzzlers measure
Tue, 05 May 2009Democratic lawmakers have proposed a cash-for-guzzlers bill that would provide vouchers of up to $4,500 to people who trade in cars and trucks for new, more fuel-efficient vehicles, Rep. John Dingell said. The measure, if approved by Congress and signed by President Barack Obama, would lead to about 1 million new-vehicle purchases, the Michigan Democrat said in a statement.
