This is the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon, and is the third new model released under Spyker ownership after the 9-5 saloon and 9-4X SUV. Saab has released this solitary teaser image ahead of the car’s debut at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March, and while we can’t see the front on the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon, it’s the back that’s the business end. It’s not your typical hearse-like load lugger: note the raked rear screen and wraparound rear glass.
Figures first, and seats up there’s 527 litres of boot space in the new Saab 9-5 Sportwagon.

Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the pace car for the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500: It'll be the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Veteran race car driver Dario Franchitti will be piloting the Camaro Z/28 around the track on race day, May 25. 2014 will mark the eighth time that a Camaro has been chosen as the official pace car for the race, with 1967 being the first time that a Camaro has lead the pack around the course.

Car makers have been fighting hard to survive in the last year or so as the landscape for their products goes through the biggest sea change ever. Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne was quoted as saying that if car makers didn’t rationalise and merge then they would go under. He sees a car making landscape with a handful of huge car makers and a plethora of very small ones – nothing in between.
