'Teach children to drive' says insurer
Tue, 15 Jul 2014BRITISH children should be taught how to drive at school to help reduce road deaths and serious injury among young drivers. Insurer Flexed says we should follow the example of schools in the USA and introduce driver education lessons. These classes will teach basic driving skills, road etiquette and safety, which will improve awareness and also help with improving driving test exam results.
Car spending 'more than holidays'
Fri, 11 Apr 2014NEARLY HALF of drivers in the UK spend more disposable income on their car than anything else, according to a survey. Spending on cars (47%) easily outweighs the amount spent on holidays (21%) and socialising with friends (13%), the poll from Halfords Autocentres showed. But the survey also found that 10% of drivers were cutting back on car maintenance to save money.

All that Top Gear did to the GT Speed to prepare it for the rally stage was to chuck out the comfortable, quilted Mulliner front seats and replace them with proper racing seats. Other than that, it was all down to the Bentley’s suspension and enormous torque to take on the worst roads Wales could throw at it.
