Design Contest: LA Design Challenge 2008
Wed, 22 Oct 2008The entrants for the fifth annual Design Challenge, part of the Design Los Angeles automobile designers' conference, have now been announced. Nine Southern California automotive design studios - including Audi, BMW, GM, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Volkswagen - have been pitted against one another and asked to develop a concept which best answers a brief entitled 'Motorsports in 2025'. Japan automakers extend shutdowns as quake impact widens
Mon, 14 Mar 2011Japan's seven big automakers are extending nationwide production shutdowns amid growing concern about supply chain interruptions, power shortages and export difficulties following the massive earthquake and tsunami that hammered northern Japan, killing thousands. The company will lose output of roughly 40,000 vehicles over the three-day period, spokesman Dion Corbett said.
