Datsun's Koji Nagano on the design inspiration of the new Go [w/Video]

Nissan has re-launched Datsun as a low-cost brand in New Dehli, India, and will introduce its future car, the Go, in early 2014 before exporting it to Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. Koji Nagano, Datsun's executive design director, describes the design inspiration for the new Datsun Go in a short video. Nagano explains how important it was that the team understand the brand's history and what it used to symbolize before focusing on how they could meet customer's expectations in each country.

Driver accused over Google Glass

AN EARLY ADOPTER of Google's Internet-connected glasses plans to fight a fine for wearing the device while driving in California. She says the technology makes navigation easier than smartphones and GPS devices. Cecilia Abadie was pulled over for speeding and a California Highway Patrol officer noticed she was wearing Google Glass and added a ticket usually given to drivers who may be distracted by a video or TV screen.

CDN announces second edition of Car Design Glossary

Car Design New has now published the second edition of the Car Design Glossary. Designed to enable budding designers  - and those wishing to describe the products of the designer's imagination - to decipher the language used in automotive studios, the Glossary was devised by David Browne, Course Director of Automotive Design at Coventry University School of Art & Design. He created the compilation of terms as an academic piece of research and collaborated with CDN to help generate feedback on these terms from designers themselves.
