Importance of the number of plates

One of the most important aspects of a dry cell design is the number of electrode plates. The efficiency of a dry cell increases with the number of plates, to a maximum of seven. The seven plate design forms six electrolysis reaction chambers where there is one positive, one negative positive and five neutral plates. Each reaction chamber requires 2 Volts, that is why a 12 Volt car is limited to seven plates cell. 13, 18, etc. plate dry cells are simply several 6-chamber cells connected together to form one unit. Every individual cell still functions at 12 V. It is the size of the surface of the neutral plates that is the essential for hydrogen generation and that is what makes an efficient, well-designed Hydrogen cell.

Automotive Hydrogen HHO generators

Audi has released details of their third 'e' car - The Audi A4 2.0 TDIe In another in the series of ‘Here’s an even lower emission model than the last one’ series, Audi has announced details of the Audi A4 2.0 TDIe, a 2.0 litre A4 which manages to cut emissions and lower fuel consumption. The A4 TDIe will supplement the existing A4 2.0 litre TDI range – 118bhp, 141bhp and 158bhp – and becomes the third Audi to get the ‘e’ badge – the others being the Audi A3 1.9 TDIe and the Audi A6 2.0 TDIe Audi’s range of TDIe cars use a very similar route to other manufacturers to achieve some pretty spectacular headline figures. This new A4 2.0 TDIe gets the same frugal engine as the A6 2.0 TDIe, which offers 134bhp from it 2.0 litre common-rail diesel.

Now the Goodwood Festival of Speed  is over for another year, the next big petrolhead event is Salon Prive – which has been pushed back to September to avoid clashing with London 2012 – and Mate Rimac has announced his Rimac_One electric hypercar will be making its UK debut on the lawns of Syon Park. The Mitac_One, which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year and conceived by precocious 24yr old Mate Rimac,  is a technological tour de force for electric cars, offering four electric motors – one on each wheel – which can accelerate and decelerate independently to offer true four wheel vectoring and stunning handling.
