Cadillac took the wraps off the new compact Caddy, the ATS, at an event on the eve of the 2012 Detroit auto show. The new Cadillac ATS is essentially a BMW 3-series rival meeting all the design and engineering criteria of the larger Cadillacs. MOTs scrapped for Classic Cars The Department for Transport has announced it is scrapping MOT tests for cars registered before 1960. In a move that probably won’t make much difference to owners – but will at least cut down on red tape – the Department of Transport has announced that from 18th November 2012 owners of cars registered before 1960 will no longer require an annual MOT. The argument for the change is that owners of classic and historic cars have a much lower accident and MOT failure rate than other vehicles on the road.

Saab Bankrupt It looks like Victor Muller’s dream of saving Saab is over with Saab shares suspended and the company filing for bankruptcy. Saab has produced nothing since April and has lurched from crisis to crisis ever since. Victor Muller has pulled every trick he knows – and some he didn’t know he knew – to keep Saab afloat, but it looks like it’s all for nothing.
