VHF NAV/COM HANDHELD RADIO/220V WITH ANTENNA Easy to use while flying! Simple one-handed operation is the most essential feature of the IC-A24. The well labeled, large keypad provides user friendly operation. The large display shows both letters and numbers and is easy to see, making for fast frequency recognition. The display is backlit, and so is the keypad. The light stays on until you turn it off - a very handy feature for flying at night. The water resistant construction provides reliable operation in wet conditions. Flip-flop channel recall The IC-A24 stores the last 10 channels used. You can easily recall those channels by pushing the flip-flop recall buttons on the front panel. It is convenient for switching between several channels, such as NAV and COM channels. CDI mode display The IC-A24 has VOR navigation functions. The DVOR mode shows the radial to or from a VOR station and the CDI mode shows the course deviation to/from a VOR station. You can also input your intended radial to/from the VOR station and show the course deviation on the display. In the USA version, the duplex operation allows you to call a COM channel, while you are using VOR navigation. We’re still not really sure we understand Toyota’s policy when it comes to hybrid cars. It’s clear they still see hybrid as the future, but they no longer seem to believe that Prius is a brand to promote hybrid goodness, at least not in Europe.

Sat, 06 Aug 2011Toyota RAV4 EV - Made in canada There was a bit of a kerfuffle last month when a Toyota man went on record to say that Toyota would not be making an electric RAV4 that you and I could buy and that instead the electric RAV4 would be “…focused on very strategic applications”. We took that to mean business fleets. But it soon transpired that the Toyota man - Toyota’s National Business Planning Manager – has not been speaking with the authority, and Toyota were quick to respond by saying “…2012 RAV4 EV will definitely be sold to the general public”.
