Carbon fiber, once so costly that it was the preferred material only for fighter planes and supercars, is catching the attention of weight-conscious automakers. Carbon fiber's cost is falling dramatically, thanks to production advances that let suppliers speed the material's finicky, and costly, curing process. One technological breakthrough that makes carbon-fiber auto parts more affordable may come from a process used to make carbon-fiber golf clubs.

2012 Mercedes B Class - In dealers for Road Test in December With the latest Mercedes B Class having arrived at Frankfurt in September, Mercedes-Benz are now gearing up for customer tests from mid-December. As you can’t have failed to notice, the 2012 Mercedes B Class arrived at this years Frankfurt Motor Show, complete with a raft of detail and even more photos and video. We reported a week or so ago that Mercedes was now in Campaign mode with the new B-Class, and we even had some new photos and a new video – all the better to entice customers in to their local MB dealers to have a look and a play.

Datsun has unveiled its new Go ahead of its release in India early next year. Designed at Nissan's global Design Center in Atsugi, Japan, the Go is the first model to be produced since Datsun's revival as a low-cost brand. The five-door hatchback is expected to be "a category up" in its price range of below INR 400,000 (around $6,700).
