Video: Stuntman flips over charging Lamborghini
Fri, 15 Mar 2013This might be the coolest video we’ve seen this week: a stuntman at last week’s Top Gear Festival at Sydney Motorsport Park in Australia flips over a charging Lamborghini Murcielago. The supercar isn’t traveling even close to peak speed, but the stuntman’s timing, vertical jump and acrobatics are impressive enough. The festival combined a slew of motorsport spectacles and stunts, hosted by UK Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and “The Stig.”
Europe's Car of the Year 2011 shortlist announced
Tue, 02 Nov 2010The 41 contenders for Europe's 2011 Car of the Year trophy have been whittled down to the final seven as the European CoTY shortlist is announced today. The winner will be voted for by 59 of Europe's most influential motoring journalists, including two CAR writers: editor Phil McNamara and European editor Georg Kacher. The 2010 winner - by just 10 points ahead of the Toyota iQ - was the Volkswagen Polo. Like the Eurovision Song Contest, Car of the Year has proved controversial in the past with accusations of block-voting and blind patriotism, yet the award remains one of the most prestigious in the motor industry.
Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy collection
Thu, 03 Nov 2011Earlier this year, Rolls-Royce announced its collaboration with renowned photographer Rankin in celebration of the Spirit of Ecstasy centenary. Over the course of the collaboration, Rankin has snapped 100 images all inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy – the defining feature of Rolls-Royce's face. Exploring the femininity of the ‘Flying lady', Rankin worked with a variety of materials, fabrics and paint to create the portraits and other works.
