Brand:intellitronix Manufacturer Part Number:B2506

Works with 0 to 90 ohm sending units, such az GM. Reads in percentage of full tank, not gallons.  I've had it on a shelf for something like 17 years new in the box. A few weeks ago I had the dash on my 72 Chrysler New Yorker out to install a dijital voltmeter in place of the useless ameter, so figured its so much trouble getting the dash out and back in, I'll upgrade to digital fuel while I'm at it. I didnt know that the Chrysler sending unit is 10 to 73 ohms, the reverse direction and different values than GM.  I also expected that this 'programmable' unit would show actual gallons, otherwise whats the point? So, its really the same as a needle pointing at lines, just flashier. And apparently nobody has figured this out yet, cause Intellitronix, Autometer and all the other brands I have seen online work the same. Guhuk!  If you want the 'fuel' label replaced, I can do it for an additional 15$ over the final bid price. Or you can do it yourself. Its not too hard to pry off the bezel and stick on a piece of paper with it printed white on black.

Italy’s Supercar sales down 80% as Italy heads for 50 year car sales low

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Sales of Supercars in Italy have dropped 80% in the last 5 years and car sales look set to drop to the lowest point since 1966. We all know the Eurozone is finally paying the price for stitching together powerhouse economies and basket case ones with the same blunt fiscal tools to control their economies. And even Italy – once a major Southern European economy – seems to be as big a basket case as Greece and Cyprus if you start to dig a bit.

Germany plans to charge foreigners to drive on the Autobahn

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Germany plans to charge foreigners to drive on the Autobahn It seems Germany is planning to charge to use the Autobahn network – just as France does – but it plans to levy the charge just on foreign visitors. The plan is part of a deal by Angela Merkel’s Social Democrat party to form a new coalition and would see all non-German drivers paying a fixed toll to use the Autobahns. But the plan is coming under fire from neighbouring countries (Germany has borders with nine other countries) and even from its own version of the AA – the ADAC – who say the revenue likely to be raised – around £220 million – will do little to address the costs.

Tomorrow's world: lightweight carbon composites

Mon, 10 Oct 2011

Once all the dust settles on The Great Battery Farce (the idea that the world's ills will be taken care of by sticking a battery in everything that moves and charging it up) we may eventually face up to the fact that the best way to move something around more economically, is to move less of it. That means making things lighter, a lot lighter. Car makers are working on it and manufacturers like Audi and Jaguar have already become masters in bringing aluminium to the mass production.
