Diesel Smart to become UK’s cleanest by 2009

That’s the date set for the launch of a right-hand drive version of the city car brand’s oil-burning two-seater Fortwo coupe and cabriolet already on sale in Continental Europe. The incredible economy and emissions stats – 85.6mpg and 88g/km of CO2 – are streets ahead of current low emitter champions like the VW Polo 1.4 TDI Bluemotion and Seat Ibiza Ecomotive, both offering 74.3mpg and 99g/km.

BMW M5 (& BMW V10) production ends

The 2005 BMW M5 - production has now finished It’s been the most successful BMW M5 ever, this E60 M5. More successful than even the E39 M5 though it’s been in production for a year less. But now it’s come to an end.

The SLC’s most striking feature (at least on the coupe) is the Gullwing doors, reminiscent of the original 300SL.
