Volkswagen launches Car-Net in-car assistance system

Volkswagen has launched an in-car assistance system which will offer a number of convenience and diagnostic features. Not too dissimilar from some other systems already on the market -- such as BMW Assist, Mercedes-Benz'sMbrace, and GM's On-Star -- VW's system will offer roadside assistance, service appointment scheduling, and automatic crash notification. The latter triggers a call from the vehicle to a Car-Net customer specialist when the airbags in the car are deployed, which will then connect the occupants with a local public safety answering point, which can send emergency vehicles to the scene if needed.

Sebastian Vettel has taken Red Bull’s second pole position in a row with a stunning qualifying at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix. Red Bull may have seemed a bit out of sorts so far in the 2012 F1 season, but Vettel’s pole at the Canadian Grand Prix on top of Mark Webber’s win at Monaco last time out may be an ominous sign for the rest of the grid. Chevrolet Camaro outsells the Ford Mustang for first time since 1993

Some drivers weren't even born the last time the Chevrolet Camaro outsold the Ford Mustang. But it happened in June as the reborn Camaro dusted the restyled Mustang, 9,320 to 7,362. The last time the Camaro beat the Mustang in a monthly sales race was October 1993, when Chevy sold 10,985 Camaros and Ford sold 5,680 Mustangs.
