New gadget immobilises cars with electronic pulse

Mitsubishi It might sound futuristic, but British technology company E2V has developed a prototype gadget capable of remotely stopping a car using a burst of electromagnetic radiation. Although it does appear to be a piece of equipment from the ‘James Bond bad guy’ locker, this technology really does work and could be used by police forces in the future. The newcomer, unveiled at Geneva, packs a punchy 98bhp and has a sprightly 780kg to carry around, so Smart is promising warm-hatch performance for the first time in a ForTwo. Okay, so it won't trouble the GTI brigade, but the new Brabus will crack 62mph in 9.9sec and is so fast they've had to limit it to 155.

Chery TX Concept

The Chery TX concept was unveiled at last month's Beijing auto show and showed significant progress in comparison to past Chery-designed vehicles. The brief for the concept was to be a ‘target-customer oriented SUV'. The TX marks a new beginning for Chery as it explores its new distinctive design philosophy, ‘Shangshan Ruoshui‘ (water) that derives from the Chinese traditional philosophy, interpreted as the pursuit of harmony and unity between humans and nature.
