Concept Car of the Week: Pontiac Banshee (1964)

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

In 1964, the Pontiac Motor Division was headed John DeLorean, who would go on to become one of the automotive industry's most divisive figures. He believed that Pontiac needed a compact, exciting car to compete with the newly launched Mustang and approved funding for the experimental Pontiac two-seat sports-car program, codenamed XP-833. Simple supply and demand dictates that when a product is reckoned to be the best there is and the supply is limited prices will rise.
