Up for auction is one NOS (New Old Stock) 80 MPH Speedometer kit for the 78-82 Spitfire snowmobiles. The auction includes one complete kit with a speedometer, cable, speedo drive, mounting bracket, hardware kit with a drive core and bushing and instructions. Kit should fit the 82-84 Sprintfire and Snowfire machines, with the exception of the speedometer cable length may be too short. Shipped by USPS, Priority Mail, with confirmation. I will be happy to combine shipping when possible. Note to Canadian buyers: shipping rate have increased to a minimum of $12.00 to send a 0-4 lbs box to Canada. Golf Mk 6 bows out with new VW Golf R Cabriolet
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Volkswagen is finally delivering the VW Golf R Cabriolet Mk 6, just as the Golf Mk 7 hits the road, but it does without 4WD. But it’s taken until now – 2013 and after the Mk 7 Golf arrived – for VW to fulfil the promise of more powerful open-top motoring in the Golf with the arrival – following a Golf R Cabrio tease video at the end of 2012 – to finally reveal it. Just as you’d expect, the Golf R Cabriolet is mechanically similar to the Golf R in that it gets the same 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder petrol engine that delivers its power through a six-speed dual-clutch auto box.
Volkswagen E-Golf to get limited testing release
Tue, 20 Mar 2012Starting in April, Volkswagen of America will launch a test fleet of battery-powered E-Golf cars in select metro areas. More selective than the BMW ActiveE program that included 700 drivers, Volkswagen will release only 20 EVs, 12 of which will be allocated to company employees. Volkswagen said in a release that the purpose of the test is to conduct research and gather information on driving patterns, electric performance and climate conditions.
First sight of Pininfarina-designed Eurostar trains
Fri, 19 Oct 2012Eurostar has unveiled the first images of its new Pininfarina-designed e320 trains that are currently under construction in Germany. A £700m overhaul of the Eurostar fleet has seen a refurbishment of its existing trains as well as the purchase of 10 new trains designed by the Italian design house. The entire new Eurostar fleet should be completed by 2015 with production of the new e320 trains and refurbishment of the existing trains well underway.
