Mercedes Teases Its 911 Rival Ahead Of Autumn Launch

The German firm has dropped the familiar ‘Benz’ element of its name, with the car being called simply the Mercedes-AMG GT. Name and cabin layout aside, Mercedes is giving little away as to the car’s looks and motive power.

Apart from the €2.35 million price tag (£1.86 plus taxes!), 1184bhp power output and 0-62mph time of 2.6 seconds, that is… All six of the Bugatti Legends series are based on the open-top Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

Toyota are intent on convincing us they’re heading in a sportier direction with their cars, and it’s true that dynamics and styling seem to be coming to the forefront in new models. That intent is demonstrated with the latest concept from Toyota – the Toyota Furia – which gets a tease ahead of a Detroit Auto Show reveal and appears to offer a sporty-looking saloon and a name that could have come straight from a video game – cue explosions and fire to demonstrate the Furia.
