Description
The K-Tuned Billet Shift Knob is the result of quite a bit of customer and racer feedback. Because K-Tuned already offers several K-Series shifter upgrades, it was definitely time for them to develop a clean and functional shift knob.
The process begins with a solid billet bar of 6061 aluminum, and each knob is machined to final size on a CNC lathe. After the lathe, the blank knobs are sent out for the anodizing process. The black is hard anodized and the silver is a regular anodize. During the final step, each knob is chucked up on a 4-Axis CNC mill to precision cut in the unique grid pattern that was designed to improve shifter grip. This final step is so critical that we actually have a 5% scrap rate. On a cable shifter setup they have found that a weighted knob can cause shifting problems for some drivers because the neutral return spring has to work harder to pull the shifter back to the center. So instead of going to the heavy side K-T found a good weight (5.5 oz) that is just enough to allow confident and accurate shifting while still keeping enough weight to help the front to back shifts.
Shift knobs are finished in your choice of black or silver with an engraved K-Tuned logo on both sides and on the top. A custom made jam nut is included to keep the knob locked in place.
This knob is a great way to finish off any shifter setup!

Loved as it may be by its loyal fanbase, the outgoing Z4 was always something of a mixed bag in terms of design. While the car's classic long-bonnet, cab-back profile and short overhangs should have pleased the eye, the BMW's sheer frontal mass made its proportions seem out of balance. The application of the company's then-new ‘flame surfacing' form language also generated a visual business that seemed out of place on something as conceptually simple as a roadster.

The Mini Rocketman, aka the mini Mini, has been shelved, CAR understands. BMW has recently signed off a slew of new Minis, many of which are revealed in the new February 2012 issue of CAR Magazine, but the baby Mini was not one of them. Why BMW has canned the mini Mini
Mini showed the Rocketman concept as design study to show what a shrunken Mini true to the brand's core values could look like in the twenty first century.

Mazda North America has released a sketch of its Mazda Ryuga concept to be shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The Mazda Ryuga builds on Mazda's design language 'flow,' most recently seen in the Nagare concept shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Ryuga is Japanese for "gracious flow," and makes use of 'rich fabrics, engineered fits and hidden details,' according to Mazda.
