Worry not though, as there are plenty of technical highlights to surprise and delight. Rear-wheel steer, Efficient Dynamics technology, night-vision, unrestricted internet access, a revised iDrive system and an all-new 3.0-litre diesel engine stand out.

Mazda refines lineup with SkyActiv technology

It turns out Mazda isn't simply shooting for the sky. Rather, the protagonists of zoom-zoom driving dynamics are taking an active approach to the brand's DNA: Put it all together, and it's called “SkyActiv.” Mazda is billing the suite of technologies as the pillars of its way forward. Much of these features--which enhance future products in nearly all areas including engine, transmission and chassis--have already been revealed.

Notable Atlanta car guy, Grammy-wining rapper and barbershop owner Killer Mike might be the first rapper to shout out Autoweek from the stage of a major music festival. He and his musical collaborator, the Brooklyn-based indie-rap mogul and DeLorean devotee El-P, put out the critically acclaimed, self-titled album “Run the Jewels” over the summer and, on Wednesday, they released the video for a single called “Banana Clipper,” which features legendary Cadillac man Big Boi.
