The Q50 will replace the rare-groove G37 saloon, and attempt to propel Nissan's luxury arm into the hotly contested small exec saloon battleground. Audi flirted with the idea of fitting the A1 e-tron with a Wankel engine a couple of years ago, but that got shelved. And Mazda – keepers of the Wankel flame – came up with the idea of a Wankel engine bolted in to an EV and powered by hydrogen last year, but it seems to0 have gone nowhere.

We've already reported on the inaugural RM Auctions Paris sale, which saw nearly £15 million's worth of the world’s rarest and most exotic cars going under the hammer, including a Jaguar D-type that sold for more than £3 million. The other was the annual Bonhams Les Grand Marques du Monde au Grand Palais car auction.
