Volkswagen Golf R stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Many landmarks have been established here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – and Volkswagen is one manufacturer that’s stealing headlines with its new Golf R. This is the most powerful production Golf ever, packing 300hp and four-wheel drive. Amazingly, it’s also more efficient than its predecessor.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 and DB9 Carbon for 2014 Geneva Motor Show

Aston Martin will show off special new versions of the V8 Vantage and the DB9 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March. The updates to the two model ranges are very different in character, however. The V8 Vantage N430 is a race-inspired special with more power and less weight – not to mention a somewhat shouty paint job – while the DB9 Carbon Black and Carbon White models are intended to bring a little extra luxury and style to the British marque’s Grand Touring model.

Ferrari 458 'damaging' the Great Wall of China Ferrari hired a section of the Great Wall of China for a publicity event, but an employee damaged the Great Wall by burning rubber in a 458 Italia. China is a very big deal for Ferrari, as evidenced not only by rising sales but by the special editions Ferrari sells in to the burgeoning luxury car market in China, like the 458 Italia China Special Edition. Sot it’s no surprise that Ferrari wanted to hire out a section of the Great Wall from local authorities in China for a bit of an ‘event’.
