If your keyless entry remote no longer stays charged for more than a few minutes or hours then you need a new battery in your key fob and if you have an LR3 or RR Sport you will need to break open or cut open the key fob case to replace the battery. If your current key fob buttons are worn though this new case will fix that problem too.

This listing is for a new case/key blank and battery only- the electronics from your old key will need  to be transferred to the new case. Your existing key can also be transferred to the new case or the supplied new key blank can be cut by your LR dealer or a locksmith. Once the parts are transferred to the new case the case must be glued together after everything is tested.

***These batteries are a direct fit and come with the correct tabs but MUST be soldered in place. This is not hard but does require the use of a soldering iron and basic soldering skills. Although we do sell the batteries separately in another listing the original key fob case does not come apart without cutting or damage so using this new case is highly recommended for this type of key***

The R, ML and GL 320 Bluetec diesels will be launched in America in autumn 2008, but won’t be coming to Europe yet. The three SUVs, which Mercedes claims come with the world’s latest and cleanest diesel engine, may not even make it to the UK.  All three come with a 3.0-litre diesel engine that has revised piston crowns, a lower compression ratio, and a new turbocharger and ECU.

The schedule for the 24th annual EyesOn Design car festival has been announced. As can be expected, the extended Fathers Day weekend show will see the usual concoction of design related events, interspersed with collections of rare cars as well as exotica. Taking on the theme of ‘designing for the future', the 24th running of the show will take place on Sunday 19th June, the climax of four days of events, all in aid of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO).

Crusade saves Brighton Speed Trials

THE BRIGHTON Speed Trials, thought to be the longest-running motorsport event in the UK, has been saved following a crusade backed by thousands of people. Since 1905, the annual event has gained international acclaim for showcasing top-class cars and motorbikes racing over a quarter of a mile at Madeira Drive on Brighton's seafront. Organisers launched a campaign amid fears the event could be scrapped because Green-led Brighton and Hove City Council had not accepted an application to host it this year.
