Historic Celebration On Track For Bumper Year

SUMMER might be a distant dream but the organisers of this July's Silverstone Classic historic race meeting already have a reason to be cheerful. This year marks a milestone for the event, as a record 84 motor clubs have already signed up to attend. According to event management, this number beats the grand total of 77 clubs who attended the 2013 event.

The interior of the new Mercedes AMG GT The Mercedes SLS is coming towards the end of its shelf life and, although it’s not getting a direct replacement, the new Mercedes AMG GT will fill the void left by the SLS. Due to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October, Mercedes has decided to throw in a bit of a sneak peak at the AMG GT ahead of that and take a bit of the gloss off some of the new reveals at the New York and Beijing Motor Shows this month. Battered by recalls and public inquisitions, Toyota is hoping to restore its once-pristine image with new hybrid products and a renewed focus on Lexus. Lexus increasingly will be positioned as a “global premium brand,” the company said on Wednesday, and see improved styling, more hybrids and better service. The brand's sales have fallen 9 percent this year, to 26,674 in the United States.
