Bought this unit to replace my out drive. Installed it and ran it a few weeks trying to figure out why it would go above 3,500 RPM. Come to find out I had a 2.0 and they take a special out drive. Had to purchase another unit and need to move this one to someone with a V6 or V8
Brand:Mercruiser Stroke:4-Stroke Engine(HP):up to 300HP Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Manufacturer Part Number:815822A43

Bought this unit ran it for a few weeks until i figured out it was the wrong ratio for my boat.Everything worked great on unit, but I have a 2.0 and apparently the use a different lower unit. I need to move this one off so I can buy the right one. Should fit all outdrive ratios except 2.0 and 2.4. The vast majority of Alpha Gen 2 are this type.

It does have 4 holes for fin on cavitation plate and two holes for skeg guard on skeg. I installed these items before I realized the unit was the wrong ratio.

This is a rebuilt unit however, it was run on my boat but not more than 10 hours as I was trying to figure out why it would run right. It shift perfectly just would go above 3500 rpm due to ratio problem. Have any questions let me know.

Fuel Injection Pioneer Stuart Hilborn 1917-2013

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Stuart Hilborn, the dry lakes hot rodder whose racing fuel injection systems powered almost the entire field at Indianapolis some years, died Monday at the age of 96. Hilborn first went to the dry lakes in 1938 and was amazed to see engine builders and racers who hadn't gone to college producing twice the horsepower of a stock setup. “I was very impressed that they had doubled the horsepower of the cars as they came out of Detroit with virtually no money at all, just work,” Hilborn told the American Hot Rod Foundation.
