After showing sketches last week, it has unveiled an in-the-metal version of the 496bhp machine to VW devotees at the annual GTI-fest at Worthersee, Austria. It hasn’t – this is VW’s virtual competitor in Sony’s Gran Turismo 6, joining the likes of the Toyota FT-1, shown at the Detroit motor show, and the BMW Vision Gran Turismo.

The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster has leaked ahead of an official debut later this week. At the end of 2011 Aston Martin boss Ulrich Bez let slip that a Roadster version of the V12 Vantage was on the way, and the expectation was it would arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Nearly half of male drivers admit to having fallen asleep at the wheel, a survey has found. Road safety charity Brake and insurance company Direct Line found that 31% of all drivers admit to ‘head-nodding’ at the wheel – meaning they’ve fallen asleep while driving a car for between two and 30 seconds.
