Jaguar XKR-S GT to cost £135k (2013)
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Jaguar has caved in to customer demand for its hardcore XKR-S GT model, and has announced it’ll sell ten right-hand drive examples to UK customers. The confirmation follows a commitment to allocate 25 to the USA and five to Canada earlier in 2013. How much will I have to pay to put a Jaguar XFR-S GT on my UK driveway?
Renault Zoe EV production car at 2012 Geneva motor show
Thu, 08 Mar 2012Renault had a surprise up its sleeve at the 2012 Geneva motor show – the new production version of the Zoe electric car will cost just £13,650 in the UK. That’s after the Government’s Plug-in Car grant which pays up to a quarter or £5000 of an electric car’s RRP, and makes the Zoe a more attractive proposition than other electric cars to date. Renault says the new Zoe is priced to be an equivalent to a diesel-powered supermini.
Concept Car of the Week: AMC AMX/2 (1969)
Fri, 18 Jan 2013Like Detroit's Big Three, AMC rapidly understood the importance of the youth market after the success of the Ford Mustang. In the late 60s, the design team produced a series of "Think Young" concept cars to reach the younger audience as well as exciting new showroom offerings like the Mustang-inspired Javelin, the two-seater AMX and the Rambler. Presented at the 1969 Chicago auto show, the second opus of the American Motors Experimental series, the AMX/2 was not just AMC's most daring concept car ever, but one of Detroit's first acknowledgments that the future of high-performance sports cars would be mid-engined.
