Volvo Concept Coupe (2013) at Frankfurt motor show

The Swedes have done emotional coupes before – like the C70 and the legendary P1800 – but the Volvo Concept Coupe is the first from its new designer, Thomas Ingenlath. Recruited from VW, Ingenlath says that the concept, which is underpinned by the new SPA platform (which stands for Scalable Platform Architecture) that will be used on the 2014 XC90, is both a nod to the past and a signal of intent for the future. You’ll be able to see it at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Four Daihatsu concepts for Tokyo 2013 debut

If you thought the old Daihatsu Copen roadster was a bit feminine for a ‘sports’ car, you’ll be pleased with this: Daihatsu’s new, butched-up, small two-seater roadster, the 2014 RMZ Kopen concept. The aggressive-looking mini cabriolet will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show later this month alongside another, rather interesting version of Daihatsu’s didi prototype – the off-road-inspired XMZ Kopen concept. Focus BEV in Jay Leno’s SIARPC – the Green Car Challenge

Jay Leno's first Green Car Challenge with a Focus BEV and Drew Barrymore Jay’s started a new TV show on NBC in the States. And he’s put together a version of SIARPC (last time – Star In A Reasonably Priced Car) using a specially created Focus BEV. Not the Focus BEV we saw at Frankfurt last week, but one put together by Ford US  based on a German Focus ST.
