'Special Cars by Pininfarina' model car collection announced
Fri, 01 Feb 201312 1:43-scale models of Pininfarina's most famous cars will be shown as part of the International Toy Fair in Nuremburg. Fans of the carrozeria will get the chance to reflect on some of the most beautiful cars of the modern era in miniature form in the ‘Special Cars by Pininfarina' exhibition. "I have personally chosen the models that now form part of the ‘Special Cars by Pininfarina' collection to give to car fans like myself the chance to live the Pininfarina legend to the full," said Pininfarina Group chairman Paolo Pininfarina.
Four new electric speed records for the UK
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Lord Paul Drayson has set a new World Electric Land Speed record for sub-999kg electric vehicles with an average speed of 205.139mph over the flying mile. This represents a modest 1mph increase over the previous record – which Drayson set last year in the same Drayson Racing Technologies all-electric prototype. But the ‘Lord of Speed’ (as we’ve just dubbed him) also broke four other records in the process.
'Every transport link' now in Google Maps
Thu, 15 May 2014TECHNOLOGY giant Google has updated its official Maps app to include every transport link in Great Britain for the first time. The app has, until now, covered London and some areas of south-east England in terms of transport links, but this new update expands to the rest of the country as well as Scotland and Wales; including every bus, tram, train and ferry route available. David Tattersall, product manager for public transport in Google Maps, said: "This is the single largest and most comprehensive update we've ever done to our public transport coverage anywhere in the world, so it's something we're really proud of.
