The Magnetic Car Bra is made from safety-coated, flexible magnetic sheet. It is UV-resistant vinyl on the outside and magnetized rubber underneath. This material is also used for magnetic car signs and the seal around your refrigerator door. The safety-coated material was designed to be used on cars. It will give problem-free service with almost no maintenance.

Conventional car bras can damage your paint. They trap road grit, and then flap and flutter in the wind, which will scratch and eventually wear through the paint. They also hold water, and if they are left on the car when they are wet, they will cause the paint to oxidize and fade. It is difficult and time-consuming to clean road grit from the bra and then wait for it to dry, but the only way to prevent damage from long-term use of a conventional bra is to clean and dry it frequently - as often as every few days.

Flexible magnetic sheet forms a tight seal that keeps out water and grit. It will not cause abrasion or oxidation. The magnetic bra can be left on a car permanently with only a few minutes of maintenance per month. All that is required is to wipe underneath with a damp cloth - as little as once a month, that's it.

The bumpers on most cars are plastic. Unlike steel, plastic flexes and absorbs impacts. This protects the bumper from rock chips. This can be observed by comparing the paint on the hood and bumper on older cars. 99 percent of rock chips occur on the hood. The magnetic car bra has a patented design that makes it theft-proof and secure at any speed. A durable U-shaped edge trim covers the leading edge and sides of the bra. This keeps wind and water out and prevents removing the bra without opening the hood.

Flexible magnetic sheet precisely follows the contours of the hood. The finest detail will show through. It will make your car look great, on or off.

Notes about other types of bras: Watch out for low-cost conventional bras. Good quality conventional bras have a soft cloth backing and a very snug fit. We have received reports of paint damage from a single road trip with a cheaply made conventional bra.

Professionally installed clear bras using transparent film are a good product. They are also very expensive (about $125 for just the hood and $500 to $700 to cover the whole front end.) The best ones are 8-mil thick, or eight thousandths of an inch. This is about 1/4th the thickness of the magnetic bra. They will protect against bugs but won't help as much against larger impacts.

All clear bras should be professionally installed. If you try to install one yourself you will end up with hundreds of bubbles and other problems, similar to window tint film installed by amateurs, and window tint film is easier to install than a clear bra because windows are flat. It takes professionals 7 to 8 hours to properly install a full front-end clear bra, and even professionals ruin them sometimes.

The magnetic car bra combines the protection and low cost of a conventional bra with the safety and convenience of a clear bra. Shipping is $11.95 to the U.S.A., $20 to Canada, and $29 to other international destinations. Other models are also availabe. The Mitsubishi Evo is dead

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

As Mitsubishi shifts its global lineup toward utility vehicles and electrified cars, it will pull the plug on the Lancer Evolution at the end of the nameplate's current generation. “Mitsubishi Motors does not have any plans to design a successor with the current concept, as a high-performance four-wheel drive gasoline-powered sedan,” spokeswoman Namie Koketsu said, describing the car as having “icon” status. “Mitsubishi Motors will explore the possibilities of high-performance models that incorporate electric vehicle technology.” Dropping the Evo was foreshadowed last fall when President Osamu Masuko unveiled a new mid-term business plan that would deprioritize in-house sedans and explore sourcing them through joint projects with the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
