PRINCIPAL- This device measures the change of inductance in the magneto coil when the points open or close. Simply shorting the clip leads together will not indicate a point closing, therefore eliminating any false reading caused by loss of contact to the magneto grounding unit.

OPERATION- Remove one plug from each cylinder. Connect either clip lead to engine ground and the other to the magneto grounding terminal. If ignition kill switch lead wire is to remain connected to the magneto, be sure to turn the kill switch to the ON positions. Turn INDUCTOR timing device on. Rotate engine slowly. Lights will indicate when magneto points are open or closed. Magneto fires when the points open. Adjust magneto timing according to engine requirements.

IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro christened the first 2014 Cadillac ELR to roll off the line at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan on Wednesday. The Volt-based electric-gas hybrid will go on sale next year. We assume De Silvestro is in town for the Chevrolet Indy Duel in Detroit, two races at Belle Isle scheduled for this weekend.
