PRINCIPAL- This device measures the change of inductance in the magneto coil when the points open or close. Simply shorting the clip leads together will not indicate a point closing, therefore eliminating any false reading caused by loss of contact to the magneto grounding unit.
OPERATION- Remove one plug from each cylinder. Connect black clip lead to engine ground. Connect red and green leads to the right and left magneto grounding terminal. Turn on INDUCTOR timing device. The L.E.D.'s will light if the points are closed. Turn propellor slowly in the direction of normal travel. When the magneto points open the L.E.D.'s will turn off and the audio tweeter will emit a signal. The magneto connected by the red lead will sound a rapid beat rate on the audio tweeter. The magneto connected by the green lead will emit a slower beat rate. When both sets of points are open, a third and continuous sound will be emitted. The magneto fires the spark plug at the point the L.E.D. turns off and the audio signal begins. Adjust magneto timing accordingly.

Rogue lorries threaten road workers
Fri, 05 Sep 2014FRIGHTENING footage of lorries ignoring warning signs and almost crashing into motorway maintenance workers has been released by the Highways Agency. One video clip shows a lorry avoiding one of the agency's traffic officer vehicles which was attending a breakdown on the M6 near Birmingham. The truck also just avoids the traffic officers and the passengers in the broken down car.
Vauxhall Astra & Astra Sports Tourer get BiTurbo diesel

Vauxhall revealed last month that the Astra GTC was getting the frugal but lively 2.0 litre CDTi BiTurbo engine, offering a tempting combination of 53mpg official economy and sub 8 second 0-62mph performance. With levels of economy unthinkable just a few years ago combined with performance a hot hatch would have been proud of, the BiTurbo Astra GTC is a clever combination.
