2013 Toyota Yaris Trend launches from £14,570 & new Yaris Appearance Packs

The 2013 Toyota Yaris Trend has been launched with styling tweaks and the Yaris TR and SR get new Appearance Packs. Toyota are aiming the Yaris Tend at ‘younger, design-conscious consumers’, so they’ve been busy giving the Trend a tweak or three to make it more appealing to their target demographic. That means keeping the chrome bits round the nose from the previous Yaris Trend, with versions optioned in white getting matching covers in the headlamp units, chrome door sills and mirrors and blacked-out B and C Pillars for a ‘floating roof’ effect.

Driverless lorries to be trialled on UK roads

Convoys of driverless trucks could be trialled on UK roads as soon as next year, with plans to roll them out on quiet motorways in the near future. Road trains of up to 10 lorries could be controlled by a driver in a single lead vehicle, with the rest of the trucks connected using wifi. The company has been putting wrenches to Mercedes-Benz engines since 1967, when Hans-Werner Aufrecht ("A") went into business with Erhard Melcher ("M") and founded AMG. The "G" is for Grossapach, Germany, the birthplace of Aufrecht.
